Rumyana Kostova, soprano 13.01.2026
Rumyana Kostova is a young soprano with a successful career in Bulgaria.
In 2023 she successfully completed a postgraduate qualification as a scholarship holder at the Boris Christoff Academy in Rome. In the period 2021–2022 she specialised at the Opera Studio of Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Italy. In 2021 she graduated from the Department of Early Music at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, the Netherlands, receiving the highest distinction, having previously studied at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia and at the National School of Music and Performing Arts “Hristina Morfova” in Stara Zagora.
The young singer studied opera singing with Darina Takova, and among her mentors in Baroque music are Rita Dams, Tineke Steenbrink, Michael Chance and Francesca Aspromonte. She appears in music-theatre projects in Bulgaria realised with the Sofia Philharmonic, the Stara Zagora State Opera and the Varna State Opera, and at festivals such as the “March Music Days” in Ruse, “The Art of the Baroque”, and others. She has participated in masterclasses led by Darina Takova, Deda Cristina Colonna, Raina Kabaivanska, Luciana D’Intino and Eleonora Pacetti.
